NEW HAVEN, CT

Today’s environment of social and political turbulence has acute consequences for nonprofits. Their access to resources and the rights of communities they serve are increasingly at risk. At the same time, this environment is motivating citizens to take action, and prompting funders to think more carefully about how best to respond to the needs of at risk communities. In this environment of rapid change and uncertainty, nonprofits and funders must focus on how to keep the sector not only resilient but also increasingly effective in spite of these external challenges. Panelists and our speakers will share their invaluable experiences and insights with over 300 philanthropic leaders and professionals at YPC — a platform designed to empower organizations to effectively adapt and build resiliency in the philanthropic sector.

We are also honored to announce our two keynote speakers, Andrea Levere, President of Prosperity Now, and Aaron Dorfman, President and CEO of the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy.

Our panel discussions include:

• Changing Gears: Making Strategic Shifts and Realignments
• Getting Ready, Getting Resilient: Building Operational Capacity and Organizational Sustainability
• Joining the Resistance: Marketing to the Activated Donor
• Thinking Outside the Box: Fostering Creativity and Experimentation in Organizations
• Toward Equity: Advancing Responsive Philanthropy

The Yale Philanthropy Conference is an inter-disciplinary forum for current and future leaders focused on the business of social change. Now in its fourteenth year, the Yale Philanthropy Conference is the only convening of the nonprofit and philanthropic sector planned entirely by MBA students. Bringing together thinkers, students, and professionals from leading institutions and foundations across the country, the conference fosters discussions, strengthens professional networks, builds management acumen, and cultivates leadership in the social sector and beyond.

Join us for an exciting day of keynotes, panels, and interactive workshops! Registration can be completed here.

Learn more about the conference at our website https://www.yalephilanthropyconference.com/. Please reach out to [email protected] for more information or if you have any questions.

Don't forget we have an awesome lunch talk tomorrow at 11:30: Wondering how to put leadership driven by values into action? Net Impact will have Darden professor and acclaimed author Mary Gentile speak on campus for a lunch and discussion. Free lunch included and all are welcome: RSVP on campus groups: https://groups.som.yale.edu/net/rsvp?id=350218.
GIVING VOICE TO VALUES: The "How" of Values-Driven Leadership
Dr. Gentile will share a ground-breaking new approach to preparing business managers and leaders for values-driven action. Drawing on both the actual experience of business practitioners as well as cutting edge research, GIVING VOICE TO VALUES (GVV) fills a long-standing and critical gap in our understanding of how to enable ethical practice. Rather than a focus on ethical analysis, GVV focuses on ethical implementation and asks the question: “What if I were going to act on my values? What would I say and do? How could I be most effective?”
GVV is based at University of Virginia Darden School of Business (www.GivingVoiceToValues.org ). Yale School of Management was a Founding Partner, along with The Aspen Institute which also served as Incubator for the approach. From 2009-2015, it was based at Babson College.
Developed by Gentile, a veteran of Harvard Business School and pioneer in both ethics and diversity management curriculum, GVV is now being piloted in over 1,000 educational and executive settings.
Giving Voice to Values holds the promise to transform the foundational assumptions upon which the teaching of business ethics is based, and importantly, to equip future business leaders to not only know what is right — but how to make it happen.
