Our team is growing, and so is our capacity to tell our own stories.

We’re proud to welcome Taylin Santiago as CWYC’s Communications Director! Taylin is stepping into this role to help strengthen CWYC’s voice, document our movement, and make sure the stories of our young people, our organizing, and our community are told with the power they deserve.

As we enter our next 50 years, we’re building a team ready to carry this work forward — louder, stronger, and rooted in the people.

Welcome to the CWYC family, Taylin! 💚💜💛

50 years of CWYC, and once again, young people made it happen. 🖤✊🏾

From the young people who sat on our planning committee and helped shape the vision, to the day-of team who worked tirelessly to bring every piece together—this celebration was yours too.

You didn’t just help us celebrate 50 years of history. You proved that the legacy is alive, that youth leadership remains at the heart of CWYC, and that the next 50 years are already being built by the young people bold enough to imagine something greater.

Deep gratitude to every young person who poured their time, energy, creativity, and love into making this moment possible.

Fifty years of CWYC in one photo. ❤️

Past and present Executive Directors alongside some of the founders who had the vision to build Citywide Youth Coalition five decades ago. Different generations, different moments, but one organization carried forward through the hands of people who believed deeply in New Haven’s young people and their power.

This is what legacy looks like: honoring those who built before us, celebrating those carrying the work today, and making sure the next generation has something even stronger to inherit.

50 years down. Generations of leadership. And the work continues. ✊🏾❤️

Join us today as we celebrate her life, her journey, and her growth, wishing her many more successful years.

We love you!!! Happy Birthday!!!
