What if the future our children deserve requires adults to unlearn first?

CWYC and the Brave Nature Collaborative are launching a monthly learning circle for parents, caregivers, educators, organizers, and allied adults ready to heal, grow, and show up differently with young people.

Together, we will practice unlearning harmful habits, ideologies, and internalized narratives the system has taught us while building deeper skills in listening, accountability, community care, and intergenerational partnership.

This space is about healing from adultism, racism, ableism, patriarchy, and other harmful “isms” so we can better support the leadership and brilliance of young people as we build a more liberated future together. ✨

Learning doesn't stop when you become the grown-up in the room.

At BNC, we know that the adults in a child's life are part of their story too. When caregivers and allied adults have space to tune in, question, and reimagine, new pathways of being together become possible.
Our kids feel safe. Our community feels supported. 🌱

Our programs hold space for that kind of un/learning. The messy, honest, and most necessary for children’s learning.

For kids who spend their days in structured programs, our Kids Only! circle is something essential: time to lead, create, and grow on their own terms.

Our switch from "school" to "collaborative" is not a simple rebrand. We've been doing the quiet, necessary work, rebuilding our foundation so we can show up fully for children and their caregivers. 🦋

It helps grow our community events, grow new circles like Kids Only! and lead us back to the path for full time programs for children, rooted in what we've always believed: that children's liberation and liberation for our planet are tied together!

Formerly Brave Nature School — now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit — we're an outdoor, consent-centered learning community at Edgerton Park in New Haven, CT.

If forest school, playwork, or a Reggio-inspired process inspire you, we'd love to hear from you!

Open roles:
→ Nests Playworker (Birth–9)
→ Camp Playworkers (Ages 3–10)
→ Kids Only! After-School Facilitators

We are also hiring for remote positions including:
→ Virtual Assistant
→ Grant Writer

We practice connection over compliance, trust children to lead, and gather outside in every season.
