It is my pleasure to invite you to the Yale's Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library panel discussion dedicated to the ins and outs of collecting photobooks!

I will be joined by Beinecke Rare Book Curator George Miles, Yale Library Special Collections Curator Mar Gonzales Palacios, and Director of Yale Library Heather Gendron in conversation.

Friday, April 16, 2021
Time: 2:00pm - 3:30pm EST
Location: ZOOM

Topics include: how collecting differs from the circulating stacks of libraries versus special collections; how the rise of self-published photobooks is changing the way institutions acquire new titles for their collections; how collection stewards find and purchase photobooks being published today; and how artists can establish relationships with collections. This is a great opportunity for students interested in learning more about how to get their work in collections.

The Virtual Photobook Club is an event series run by Yale's Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library focused on all things photobooks. Topics include: conversations about independent publishers, rare photobooks, personal photobook collections, and more! All events take place via Zoom and require advance registration.

Audience: This event is open to the public.

Registration: Registration required.
