The Yale University and Greater New Haven communities are invited to attend this year’s MLK Commemoration that honors the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year, the commemoration will feature Ruby Bridges, a Civil Rights icon, activist, author, and speaker who, at the age of six, was the first Black student to integrate an all-white elementary school in Louisiana.

This event is free and open to the public, and it will also be live streamed. Registration is required for both types of attendance. https://yaleuniversitylife.swoogo.com/mlkcommemoration2024

Vision 2034 https://newhavenvision2034.com/ is a blueprint of the city's vision for the future, and a policy guide for achieving planning goals. It serves as a decision-making guide for residents, community leaders, and government officials in matters relating to land use, housing, transportation, sustainability, economic development, neighborhood planning, public investments, and capital improvement programs. City Plan has been working closely with Consultant teams FHI and Led By Us on the exciting launch of this process. The plan will focus on conservation, development, equity and resilience. We hope you'll get involved by joining us at the launch meeting or serving as a leader in the process!

Bike Walk CT’s Connecticut Walkability/Bikeability Survey is now open. Can you help us get the word out and share with your networks? Results will help create a more vibrant and active community across the state.

Take the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YFFTTHV

Do you walk and/or bicycle to get to places where you need or want to go? Do you wish that transportation that doesn't involve a vehicle were easier and safer in your community? Bike Walk Connecticut and the Capital Region Council of Governments want to hear about your perceptions and experiences as a pedestrian and as a cyclist.

Please complete a statewide survey to let advocates and planners know what is going well and what needs attention. The survey is in two parts, the first with a pedestrian focus (which we ask everyone to complete) and a second (optional) section about cycling. The whole survey takes no more than 10-15 minutes to complete, and there is space to add any information you want to share. Please let us hear from you... the more voices, the higher the likelihood of accomplishing change.

Want to see how your town scored in 2014, the last time this survey was done? Check out the results here.

Please share the survey with your networks, and thanks for your time!
