Head Start families please be advised that kindergarten enrollment in Connecticut recently changed. Now, children must turn 5 years old by September 1st to enroll, instead of the previous deadline of December 31st. Please read the information below, if you have any questions please contact your Family Support Worker for any assistance.

ECC families of young children, kindergarten enrollment in Connecticut recently changed. Now, children must turn 5 years old by September 1st to enroll, instead of the previous deadline of December 31st.

Here's what you need to know:
✅ If your child is currently enrolled in a New Haven pre-k program, they can seamlessly transition to kindergarten.
✅ Families have the option to appeal the enrollment decision if they feel their child is prepared for kindergarten.
