Torah & Tea!

We finished chapter 20 of Tanya!

A deep discussion on faith & our connection to Hashem,
& what matters most to us. We discussed the struggle of fitting in to American society & following politics etc & how the fads & culture don't define who we are. The Jewish Soul, the Torah, Mitzvot, the faith is at the core of our very being. This matters most to a Jew.

We read the book about Abbale a young boy during communist Russia & how his father taught him Torah inmiddle of the night to keep the chain of Yiddishkeit alive.

& discussed how we can do that today in our lives.

We watched a few minutes of little lights. A chanuka video that depicts how the Greeks tried to remove the light the soul from Judaism. & the dangers in that for us as a people.

What a wonderful Tanya class this week!

Not a clear photo:) but still worth sharing.
Selfie work in progress!

We learned how the Neshama wants that connection with Hashem more than anything else. & that the only it can achieve this is through Torah & mitzvot in this world.

How hashem is recreating this world at every moment with his speech! How insignificant the world is in comparison to hashem, yet how close we can be with hashem in our service of hashem.

This class was dedicated to Jacky Gold,
David Cohen & Marsha Whitten of Westville & Rabbi Rubin of Albany who passed on Sukkos, may their nashamos have an aliyah.
