In our every day lives it's easy to become offended or even hurt (emotionally) by our family and friends. We put so much weight on their words and their actions that impact us in any way. Oftentimes, we feel hurt or offended, not because someone actually did something with the intent of hurting or offending us, but because we allow our ego to get in the way because of our inflated sense of self. Our pride and ego become "injured." With this in mind, to find peace in life and to learn to move beyond these hurts, God's Word tells us several things that can help.

Romans 12:16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.

Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

And finally
Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

When we live according to the world we place unrealistic expectations on others and even on God. We become offended and all too often hold onto that hurt, finding it difficult to even let it go, let alone forgive. We even find it difficult sometimes to forgive ourselves.

So my challenge for you today is to look up the word humility. Learn what it is and ask yourself how you can begin to humble yourself. Then think of something a friend or family member has done that really upset you. Ask yourself why it upset you? Is it maybe because you placed your value above their's? Then pray about it and ask God to heal your heart and show you how to let it go and how to forgive that person.

Jesus never promised us an easy life. He never promised us earthly riches. What he did promise was salvation by grace and should we surrender our will to His, he would change our hearts and our minds. As we grow in Him, the desires of our heart begin to turn from the selfish desire of the world and of our old self to the desire to do His will by putting aside self and serving others.

Veterans and first responders! If you found a church that focuses on the spiritual needs of Veterans and first responders, and is Christ centered and Bible based, would you attend?

I come before you in humility, with my hat in my hand. In May of this past year, I made Ephesians 6 Project ministry official. I have posted numerous times trying to raise money to get this off the ground so that we can start working toward helping our veterans and first responders that are struggling with things like PTSD, depression, anxiety, alcohol and substance abuse and thoughts and attempts of su***de, and so much more. I have also posted asking for people to volunteer to become part of Ephesians 6 Project. Part of our mission is to provide fellowship and spiritual support to our brothers and sisters that need it the most. It is my sincere dream to have a huge network of veterans and first responders that can be available at a moment's notice to be there for another veteran or first responder. Why do I want the network to be made up of veterans and first responders? It's simple really. Because our brothers and sisters that are struggling to get through each day will often feel more comfortable talking with someone that can relate to what they have seen and experienced.

I have a lot of friends on social media that post about how they back the blue, and support our first responders, and how they support our military, but yet, I can count on one hand the number of those friends who have actually donated, and there are even less that have been willing to actually do anything to get involved and actually do something other than post something.

Earlier today, I was informed that 2 of my board members are resigning because they already have a lot on their plate. I am asking for some of you that are veterans and or first responders (past or present) if you can find the time to become a part of Ephesians 6 Project. I am looking for someone that is willing to become a part of our board of directors and help grow and guide this outreach ministry. If you're interested, please message me.

Thank you! God bless everyone

Looking for others that have a desire to help our veterans and first responders and have a heart for Christ. While we would prefer veterans and first responders (past & present), it is not a requirement
