Yesterday, tenants enjoyed Prairie Haus' first ever visit from Abel, a newly minted therapy dog who lives just down the street with his handler, Tiffany. Yesterday was also Abel's first therapy dog "job," and Abel passed with flying colors.

Abel was very intuitive, visited from person to person, and lapped up the love and pets. We look forward to having Abel back again!

Ever since Nick Faessler's brother, Steve, battled cerebral palsy growing up, Faessler has devoted his life to improving special education and finding ways to help those with disabilities and special needs.

The New Glarus Public Library has been one of HOOO's important partners -- offering joint programming in our space that benefits both of our stakeholder audiences. We are so excited that NGPL will finally have the space they (and the community) both need and deserve.

Take a peek at the visual of the old library and you will see why we are so excited about the upcoming grand opening of the new library that will have multiple gathering spaces for all to enjoy. Congratulations Amy, Erica, library staff, the New Glarus Library Board, the Village of New Glarus, and most of all congratulations to our wonderful community for finally making this happen!

One last goodbye to the old library. (Next year Village Hall will begin remodeling, including a larger board room!)

HOOO was happy to be represented yesterday at the Green County Development Corporation/Green County Healthy Community Coalition Housing Summit. This year's summit was bigger than ever, which speaks to the need the community knows exists -- for quality, affordable housing.

We look forward to future conversations about how the County can move forward on the housing front.

Each year, New Glarus School District high school students participate in "Do Good Day." This year, a hard working group of students came to Prairie Haus to do everything from courtyard sweeping, to pansy planting, to window and wall washing, to helping carry tenants' heavy planter pots to their decks. We would welcome this hard working group back anytime! Thank you!

On her last day serving as HOOO's nursing student intern, Nurse Payton led a discussion of easy, healthy cooking, and served up a menu that included pasta and two ingredient cheesecake. All low sugar and high protein.

We so appreciated Payton's work all semester doing everything from food pantry shopping and stocking, blood pressure checks, leading meditation moments, and helping tenants sign up for food pantry services. This was our third semester welcoming senior nursing students from Edgewood University and we look forward to hosting future interns.

Best of luck, Payton, as you embark on your first professional nursing journey.
