The Friends Annual Book Sale Weekend was a huge success.
This year, the book sale location was moved from Village Hall Community Room where it had always been held (about 40 years?) to the beautiful new library building. The sale was held in the classroom, Brooke Mathews Storytime Room and the courtyard. In the courtyard, people enjoyed the tent and chairs we had set up.
THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by, for finding our new location, for browsing and for your donations. We hope you come back next year.
THANK YOU to all of our volunteers – you make this book sale happen! There are very few of us active with the Friends Board, we depend on all of you. You help haul the boxes of books from the library to storage and then back to the library for the book sale weekend. You lug the tables from the New Glarus Chamber to the library and back again. We depend on you to work the days of the book sale. We need your help to clean up after the sale which includes boxing all the books up and hauling them away.
For many, many hours during the week leading up to the weekend of the sale, you are there, at the library, unboxing books. Organizing the books on the tables, under the tables anywhere and everywhere, to make them fit and look good in hopes they will be purchased.
Then you bake! Your baked goods are not only a delicious homemade touch to the book sale, your baked goods are also a beneficial fundraiser.
This is a lot. You do a lot. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
THANK YOU New Glarus/Monticello Cross Country Team for hauling the boxes of books from storage to the library!
THANK YOU New Glarus Chamber for use of the tables!
THANK YOU Library Staff! For all you do throughout the year. Then book sale comes along and you are right there with us going above and beyond as we take over two rooms. You are the best and we appreciate you!
This book sale exceeded expectations. Looking forward to 2027!
