It is with profound sadness that the City of New Florence announces the sudden passing of Police Chief Tyler (Ty) Beasley who died on April 30th, 2026.

Chief Beasley faithfully served the New Florence Police Department and this community with dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to public safety. Throughout his tenure, he worked tirelessly to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and residents, leaving a lasting impact on our city.

He was not only a respected leader but also a valued colleague, mentor, and friend to many. The loss of Chief Beasley is deeply felt across our police department and the entire community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all members of the City New Florence during this difficult time.

Details regarding memorial services will be shared as they become available.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ๏ฟผ

New Florence Fire Protection District, alongside Big Spring Volunteer Fire Department of Missouri responded to a structure fire on Buechele Rd. on Thursday, March 19th, at approximately 10:30 PM. While fire units were in route ๏ฟผLaw enforcement advised of possible victims inside the structure, prompting additional resource requests from Jonesburg-High Hill Fire Protection Dist. and Montgomery Fire Protection District. Firefighters arrived on scene and ๏ฟผentered the structure, conducting a primary search while simultaneously ๏ฟผinitiating fire attack. A victim was discovered and removed from the structure, and transferred to EMS, who later pronounced them deceased. Additional units assisted in extinguishing the fire. The Missouri State Fire Marshal's office is assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Around 5 AM, New Florence firefighters were alerted to a structure fire involving an apartment complex. After gaining entry, they found smoke-filled hallways and pinpointed the fire's location. Deploying a hand line, the team entered the room and successfully knocked out the fire. The investigation concluded that the blaze was caused by an e-bike battery that had been left on and subsequently exploded. Fortunately, the outcome was injury-free, with all individuals safely evacuated.
