🙌 YOUTH MINISTRY WEEKLY UPDATE 🙌

Recap: Last Wednesday, we explored Exodus 12:13 and the Passover, learning that our security comes from Christ, not our changing emotions. The teens had a blast racing the clock in "The Passover Tower Sprint!" 🥤📱

This Wednesday: We’re moving forward in the story to Joshua 1:9! Joshua faced huge, intimidating challenges, but he stepped forward with bold confidence because he knew God was right beside him.

🔥 What's Happening This Week:
We're kicking off with a fun physical balance challenge that tests everyone's stability. Students will discover firsthand what happens when we try to stand in our own strength versus when we anchor ourselves to someone much stronger!

🤔 Question for the week: When life gets shaky, what (or who) are you leaning on to keep you standing?

Sometimes the reason you can’t hear God clearly is because you’ve already decided what you want Him to say.

We can pray for direction while secretly asking God to approve a decision we’ve already made.

But real prayer requires surrender.

Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

That means trusting God sometimes requires distrusting your own perspective.

Your feelings are real, but they aren’t all-knowing. Your desires can be sincere and still lead you the wrong way. What looks perfect today may look completely different a year from now.

God sees the whole road.

That’s why wisdom begins with surrender. Instead of only praying, “God, give me what I want,” learn to pray, “God, change what I want if it isn’t what You want.”

Sometimes the greatest answer to prayer isn’t God changing your circumstances.

It’s God changing your desires.
