CanHOPE New Delhi

CanHOPE India is a non-profit cancer counselling & support service initiated by Parkway Cancer Centre. It aims at creating cancer awareness in India.

In our effort to fight against cancer, we want to support cancer awareness, to give hope and we do so by reaching out and educating the public. Through CanHOPE, we strive to inspire hope in our patients and their loved ones by helping them better cope with cancer. Counseling, nutritional advice, rehabilitation, education, care coordination and support group activities are the core of what we do. C

anHOPE India is set up with the objective to Cancer. Activities conducted by CanHOPE India includes:

o Conducting talks, public meetings and disseminating collaterals to create cancer awareness, educate on cancer prevention and early cancer detection strategies in India,
o Assisting cancer patients and family members by providing psyco-social support and general information about management of various effects during cancer treatment. o Offering resources for Continue Medical Education on cancer related field and creating platform for doctors between India and Singapore to share knowledge.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘀?

For some people with sarcoma, the tumour’s location can make treatment planning more complex. Doctors need to consider not only how to treat the cancer, but also how to help protect the healthy tissues around it.

For selected patients, Proton Beam Therapy may help by delivering most of the radiation dose at the tumour, with little to no exit dose. This may be particularly beneficial for selected sarcomas near critical structures or for developing tissues in some children and young adults.

Sarcoma care is not always straightforward. For one patient, treatment involved removing part of his leg, rebuilding it with an artificial implant, and supporting his return to movement. Because sarcoma can affect different tissues and parts of the body, care often needs to consider more than the tumour itself. It may also involve preserving function, supporting recovery, and helping patients move forward with life after treatment.
