According to WHO, every year, between 250 000 and 500 000 people suffer a spinal cord injury (SCI) globally.
In India, the average annual incidence of SCI is 15,000 with a prevalence of 0.15 million.
5th September is commemorated as ‘Spinal Cord Injury Day’ every year with the intention of increasing awareness amongst the general public.
