Have you ever wondered if it's too late? In the story of Esther, an irrevocable decree of death has been made, and it seems like it's game over. That is until Queen Esther requests for a new decree to be made that overpowers the first. And because of that, a day of death turns into a day of deliverance. That's how God works! In God's hands, it's never too late. Because of Jesus, we, too can be delivered and receive new life. Do you think it's too late? Surrender yourself to the grace of God, get off the bench, and watch what he does.

Are you facing a challenge? Is there a predicament where it would be easier and more comfortable to sit where you are and not risk taking a step? When Esther faced a dire circumstance where stepping in would put her life at risk, her cousin reminded her: "Who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?" Perhaps you, too, are in a place you were meant to be, where God wants to bring hope, change, and healing. Will you dare to take a step and trust God with the outcome?

Through Esther’s story, we see how God can turn a trial into a testimony and how change may be closer than we think. We can remember that nothing faithful is ever forgotten, and the breakthrough we’re praying for may already be in motion. Many people want certainty and details before taking action, especially if it means stepping out of our comfort zone. But that doesn't happen most of the time. When Queen Esther is given the news that a decree has been made for her people, the Jews, to be killed on a certain date in a number of months, she is faced with a risky decision. What should she do? What will happen? What if it doesn't work? What if it costs her? Maybe for Esther-- as well as for us-- faithfulness means stepping into the unknown and leaving the outcome to God. Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we dive into the 4th chapter of the Book of Esther and take a look at how often while we’re waiting for clarity, God is waiting for trust. Bring a friend.

This past weekend, we turned the page in the Book of Esther to the part where the sky gets dark and the music turns scary. This is the time where Haman, the king's second-in-charge, steps onstage-- one of the most vivid illustrations of pride in the Bible. C.S. Lewis defines pride as “ruthless, sleepless, unsmiling concentration on the self," and we must be warned that while it's easy to see it in a character like Haman, it's often hard to see in ourselves. Nipping pride in the bud starts with admitting it. And when you anchor your value, worth, and love in God rather than in things, desires, or people, you are then able to think of yourself less and let go.
