West Shore Foundation

West Shore Foundation The WS Foundation enriches Academics, Arts & Culture, Athletics, Innovation, & Community Wellness.

The West Shore Foundation was organized on June 15, 1987 for the purpose of supporting projects related to educational programs and to create opportunities for the development of the students, staff, and community of the West Shore School District. Currently, the West Shore Foundation is experiencing a "rebirth". The Board of Directors voted to revitalize the Foundation and embarked upon the devel

opment of a Strategic Business Plan which was approved at their August 15, 2015 meeting of the Board of Directors. This plan will be implemented during the 2015/2016 school year with the leadership of its new Executive Director and the Board of Directors.

🌼 Spring cleaning just got even more meaningful!

We’re excited to announce a new CommunityAid donation bin at Cedar Cliff High School, located in the parking lot off Carlisle Road!

It’s the perfect time to clear out those closets and support our community. When you donate clothing, textiles, and shoes, you’re not only giving items a second life—you’re helping the West Shore Foundation and providing resources for West Shore families in need.

You can also find CommunityAid bins at:
• Fishing Creek Elementary
• Red Mill Elementary
• Allen Middle School

🧺 Reminder: These bins accept clothing, textiles, and shoes only. All other items can be taken to your nearest CommunityAid Donation Center.

Thank you for your generosity—and for helping keep our school grounds clean and welcoming for all.

INNOVATION IN ACTION 🎥✨
Thanks to a West Shore Foundation Educator Innovation Grant, the Red Land High School student broadcast studio leveled up in a big way!

With new “second‑camera” equipment funded by the grant, students can now produce smoother, more professional broadcasts—no more stopping and resetting to film stories. The upgraded setup also opened the door for more students to get on‑air experience every day, practicing lines, learning camera work, and building confidence.

Even better, students aren’t just using the studio—they’re learning to build it. After visiting ABC27’s professional studio, they rebuilt their own from the ground up, gaining hands‑on skills in lighting, audio, staging, and multi‑camera coordination.

This is what innovation looks like: students creating, problem‑solving, and understanding how every piece of a real studio fits together.

Way to go, future broadcasters!
