Tower 69 and Rescue 69 are operating as the first and second due special services in the Borough of Lemoyne for a house fire.

69 Units were clearing a house fire in Lower Allen Township as the second fire was dispatched.

🔥 House Fire 🔥

This morning just prior to roll call the Rescue & Tower responded to the boro of Lemoyne for a house fire with entrapment .

Both units arrived and sent crews forward . Crews worked to gain access to the second floor to start primary searches. Shortly after Harrisburg Ladder 2 and West Shore Bureau of Fire crews reported a victim on the second floor and removed the victim through the second floor window on the front of the house . Rescue & Tower crews worked together using two ladders to remove the victim from the porch roof into the care of EMS.

After handing off the victim crews resumed operating on the second floor assisting with completing searches and opening up for engine companies operating .

Yesterday Rescue 69 responded on the first alarm assignment to assist Harrisburg Bureau of Fire with a building fire down town. City units found a fire in the laundry room mostly contained by a sprinkler system with a smoke condition in the building. Rescue 69 stood by as RIT.

Last night Rescue 69 responded to assist Fairview Township with a car into a house. Rescue 69 conducted a building damage assessment to assess the need for shoring.

Tower 69 also handled three incidents yesterday. MICU 69 handled three incidents as well.

☢️ Hazardous Materials Incident! ⚠️

Please review the press release from our mutual aid partners at Newberry Township Fire Department. Rescue 69 was dispatched on the initial and worked the incident for multiple hours.

MAJOR TRAFFIC / HAZMAT INCIDENT — INTERSTATE 83

Newberry Township Fire Department and multiple mutual-aid agencies are currently operating on Interstate 83 for a significant hazardous-materials incident involving a tractor-trailer with a leaking product.

Interstate 83 is currently CLOSED in BOTH directions between the Yocumtown and Newberrytown exits. Motorists should avoid the area and expect significant delays while crews continue working to contain and mitigate the incident.

Multiple fire departments, hazardous-materials personnel, State Police, PennDot and other supporting resources are working together on scene. A specialized cleanup contractor has also been requested and crews are awaiting their arrival.

At this time, the public should avoid the immediate incident area and obey all roadway closures. Any additional public-safety instructions will be communicated if they become necessary.

There is currently no estimated time for Interstate 83 to reopen.

Please use an alternate route and allow emergency crews room to operate.

Recap! Company 69 has responded to numerous structural incidents over the week:

- August 22nd: 1400blk of High Street, East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County. 1st alarm house fire. Rescue 69

- September 1st: 500blk of Erb Lane, East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County. 1st alarm house fire. Rescue 69.

- September 1st: School House Lane, Fairview Twp, York County. House fire WFD. Engine and Tower 69.

- September 2nd: B’nai B’Rith Apartments, City of Harrisburg. 1st alarm smoke throughout a highrise. Rescue 69.

The company has taken in additional runs for medicals, fire alarms, and reported fires in between!

🔥House Fire 🔥

Overnight the Engine & Tower ran a working house fire in Fairview Twp. The Engine Co supplied water while the crew went forward working with Engine 68-1 for suppression and opening up. Tower 69 arrived and worked with initial crews opening up vaulted ceilings and checking the second floor . Crews were committed roughly 2 hours .
