WIDE VIGILANCE 2026

On May 17th and 18th, DLA members participated in a regional USAR drill put on by the South Central Task Force. Both days tested the deployment capability of the SCTF USAR element for regional responses. Local F221 has members rostered in many roles to include task force leader, plans team manager, rescue techs, hazmat techs, search techs, and medical specialists.

The SCTF USAR team is made up of multiple agencies within the region. Each agency brings a large amount of knowledge and experience to the team. Thank you to the SCTF Leadership for hosting!

Eric comes to us from Coatesville VA and started with us on April 20th.

Eric is currently assigned his first 90 day rotation on the truck company and most recently caught his first fire in Newberry Twp (group photo).

When not on shift Eric enjoys spending time with his family, Fishing & Playing drums .

🚑 EMS WEEK! 🚑

We would like to recognize all of our members this week who are Firefighter/EMT’s and Firefighter/Paramedics!

MICU 69 is the busiest unit in our department and has been credited with multiple life saving awards, including two cardiac arrest saves on-base in the last five years!

Our EMS doesn’t stop there, Rescue 69 is a licensed ALS QRS unit. Most of our Firefighter/Paramedics are FEMA Medical Specialists, making huge impacts to patient outcomes during technical rescue incidents.

Lastly, Medic 69 (ALS Squad) can be staffed during multiple incidents or unique circumstances requiring ALS services without transport!

🚨Crash w/ Confinement 🚨

The Rescue & Engine companies responded outside Post 4 for the report of a crash w/ Confinement . Crews were able to gain entry quickly and were out about 20 minutes .

5/15/26 Basement Fire 🔥

On Friday the 15th the Tower and Engine responded to Newberry township for a basement fire . Initial crews had smoke throughout and were able to stretch a handline to the basement for extinguishment. The engine and truck company opened up and completed searches and ventilation .
