Dakotah suffered from Mucolipidoses, a genetic disorder that is fatal. Dakotah was a miracle child, touching lives everywhere he went. His compassion and sweetness were so innocent and pure you couldn't help but fall in love with him. We suffer without Dakotah every day. Every day there is a void, but we also know that we are blessed with being able to raise money to help other families so they do
n't have to endure what we did. R4D aids families with children who are affected by rare life threatening diseases and provides other benevolent giving through emotional and financial support. Our goal is to educate the community by providing awareness for these rare genetic disorders. In addition, we hope that by supporting research and advocating for a cure, we can ease the suffering of those who are affected. In order to aid the families directly, Rock4Dakotah has begun the process of obtaining our own 501c3 status. We are very excited to transition to this next step and to be able to have the opportunity to work one-on-one with these children and their families. Each year we host a benefit concert with local bands who donate their talent, as well as kid's games, silent auction items, food, vendors, and raffles. There is also a ride in memory of Dakotah held the morning of the event. The event is hosted by Appalachian Harley and is held in September to honor Dakotah's Birthday.
