This morning, our Executive Director had the opportunity to present our Neurodivergent-Affirming Inclusion Seminar to a diverse group of employees from Dauphin County Parks & Recreation. From frontline staff, to marketing and all the members in between who help shape visitor experiences, participants came together to learn practical ways to make public spaces more welcoming and accessible for everyone.
The impact of this training reaches far beyond the classroom. The knowledge shared will help create more inclusive experiences at beloved community destinations like Wildwood Park and Olewine Nature Center and Fort Hunter Mansion and Park, ensuring that visitors of all abilities feel valued, understood, and included.
What makes our seminars unique is that they are developed and taught by people with lived experience. There is a significant difference between learning about disability from a textbook and learning directly from disabled and neurodivergent individuals who navigate these challenges every day. Real-world perspectives, practical solutions, and authentic conversations help organizations build environments where inclusion becomes part of their culture, not just a policy.
If your business, organization, school, or community group is interested in becoming more neurodivergent-affirming, we’d love to help. Contact Neurodiverse Network to schedule an educational seminar and take the next step toward creating spaces where everyone belongs.
