đź’š Today is World Cerebral Palsy Day, a day that has special meaning at Jawonio.
Cerebral Palsy may be part of a person’s life, but it does not define who they are, what they can achieve, or the dreams they can pursue.
One of our Jawonio 2026 Virtual Gala honorees Scott Salmon is a wonderful example. Scott first came to Jawonio at just seven months old. He went on to college, earned his master’s degree in social work, built a career with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and has become a strong advocate for people with disabilities.
Scott will receive the Sandy Sewell Advocacy Award and will be honored alongside our “Dynamic Duo” Friends Award honorees, Hon. Lou Falco and Hon. Lon Hofstein, and Corporate Partner Award honorees Jack Coomber and Mary Jo Jacobs of USI Insurance Services.
For nearly 80 years, Jawonio has believed in seeing the whole person their abilities, talents, choices and possibilities not a diagnosis.
Today, we celebrate Scott and people with cerebral palsy everywhere who remind us every day that disability does not define possibility. đź’š
