Thank You to those who have donated so far to help us provide a Mt Jackson / North Beaver Community Gathering Center, affectionately known by our Board as the" Big Barn". By now , many of you have received our mailer requesting donations to help us complete the "Big Barn" reconstruction. Our dream is that the "Big Barn:" will become a community gathering center providing a space for wedding receptions, reunions, musical events, craft shows, etc, all at the least possible cost to community members as well as displaying our museum artifacts and memorabilia in a casual and relaxing atmosphere. We hope to eventually provide food and beverage service as well.
So far we have invested about $1.6 mil. in the entire Museum project, all from donations, and think we will need about that much more to complete it the way we would like.
Any financial help you can give us would be greatly appreciated, and will contribute to the betterment of your community, while being fully tax deductible for you as well. Thank You for your generous support. ......JOHN

Our "Big Barn" reconstruction is presently on hold due to lack of funds. As you can see from the picture below, we have built the foundation and first floor walls, constructed the elevator shaft, and put on the ground floor of precast concrete slabs. The "big barn" as we call it will be 48' x 80' with a 30' x 40' "milkhouse addition. The milkhouse addition will house a lobby and kitchen area, on the lower level ,as well as offices and library on the upper level. The main barn will house 2 floors of community gathering space, with a grand staircase at one end, ideal for a bride to make her grand entrance, or just general access between floors. We envision displays around the perimeter of memorabilia we already have on hand and will be donated in the future. The center areas will be public seating in clusters with a fireplace near the front entrance. We plan to display the original North Beaver fire truck and other larger and heavier items randomly on the lower level.
