Latcom Mission LATCOM is your heart, hands, and feet to reach Latin Americans for Christ. LATCOM is a partnership between North American and South American Christians.

Since our beginning, we have placed ministries in the hands of nationals, who are capable, Spirit-led, and eager to share the Gospel with their fellow countrymen. In the USA, LATCOM has a Board of Directors, an Executive Director, a home office staff, and several USA-based missionaries. Likewise in South America, there is a Board of Directors, based in Bolivia; a Bolivian staff; and several Bolivian missionaries. LATCOM(USA) gives support and counsel to our Bolivian counterparts.

On September 26-27 the REDES Lomerio leadership hosted a youth camp for young people from 8 Chiquitano communities in Monterito. 98 youth attended the camp with 14 local REDES leaders and volunteers helping out. Eight young people accepted the Lord and 30 recommitted their lives to the Lord. THANK YOU REDES Lomerio workers for this incredible service, and thank you to all who made it possible.

LATCOM and REDES Lomerio National missionaries Juan and Rosita Garcia shared the following report of their Good News Club visit on September 4, 2026 in the community of San Jose Obrero. 38 children attended and 16 chose to accept the Lord as their Savior. San Simon, Lomerio playground is almost finished. The dedication will be September 26th. That is at the same weekend in which the annual Lomerio Youth Camp will be happening in Monterito only seven kilometers from San Simon. Pray for good weather and for God to move in the hearts of the youth.

“Mr. Tim,” one young athlete said, “This is the best time I’ve ever had in my life. I’ll never be the same. Not only did I have a ‘beastly’ time, but Jesus transformed my life.”

I heard this minutes before the 183 athletes and their families boarded their buses for the long ride home at the conclusion of our third annual Basketball Sports Camp at Monte Blanco August 28th-30th. As kids screamed and waved their goodbyes and the last bus passed out of view, our organizational staff had a few moments to reflect about what had happened. We all felt the camp had been a resounding success, but it was not until a day later, when we tallied the data, that we realized just how successful the event had been. Sixty-four kids had accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and scores more had recommitted their lives to the Lord. Not only did they have a great time of competition, training, and exciting games, but many of them went home eternally changed.

THANK YOU to the Monte Blanco Staff and their volunteers, the 17 volunteers from Familia Kairos church from Santa Cruz, the LATCOM staff, and especially to national missionaries Mel and Karina Rasse and Omar and Ana Vasquez for organized and ran the entire event.

This coming week should be the dedication of the playground in San Simon. I had hoped to be able to be there while I was in Bolivia but my schedule would not allow it. Here is where it was at as of September 3rd.

The volunteer Maintenance team from Concepcion and Santa Cruz under the direction of National Missionary Onesimo Rojas spent 4 days working very hard at Monte Blanco Camp back in August getting the place ready for Mel and Karina’s Basketball camp. Four members of the REDES Concepcion church planting team and one pastor from the ICF church in Valle Grande worked really hard and with amazing commitment to complete every goal they had.
They finished painting the second basketball court, plastered and painted the entry way to the plaza, laid tile in one of the dorm rooms, and replaced most of the screens in the doors and windows of the camp.
LATCOM supporters provided the funds for the materials and for transportation, lodging and food. THANK YOU!
There is still a great deal to do at the camp and this team has already volunteered to return sometime in the near future.
If you are interested I believe the next national volunteer team will be going up in October and will be focusing on desperately needed plumbing repairs. Toilets need replacing, leaking faucets repaired, pipes replaced, and an whole bunch of other needs.
As soon as we can raise the $9,000.00 we need to replace the dining room floor then that will require a team as well. Keep in touch with Omar Vasquez as to when.

I just returned from MB Camp and the Basketball Sports Camp and I have to say, the work of the three volunteer teams that went up to Monte Blanco Camp did and incredible job. Their work was supurb.

Here is the latest on the playground construction in San Simon in the Lomerio. National missionary Juan Garcia is directing the community volunteers as they assemble the structure. Thursday our Bolivian Project Manger - Gonzalo Vasquez will head out in the mission 1991 Toyota Hilux with all the implements that will go on the playground - Slides, swings, etc. We can build these playgrounds for around $4,000 each. We still have requests for four more this year. If you, or your church is interested, you can help us through LATCOM.ORG. More pictures later...

Here is a testimony Onesimo and Elodia share from one of their REDES Concepcion co-workers Hilario and his wife.
(Note: Hilario was the believer from Embocada who several years ago lost his son in a terrible motorcycle accident when a drunk driver invaded their lane and hit his son and daughter head-on. Their daughter was left with a severely shattered leg and has struggled to regain full function. Despite all that tragedy the family has faithfully continued to share the Gospel with their church and with the surrounding Chiquitano communities).

It has been 7 years since our brother Hilario and his wife accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Before that Hilario lived a life of idolatry, following the customs and beliefs for those who lived around him believing this to be the correct and true path. Never-the-less the Lord transformed his life in a very powerful way.
(NOTE: Proof of this was the way in which he personally and publicly forgave the man who senselessly killed his son and maimed his daughter while driving drunk).

Today Hilario is an active member of the Embocada Church who serves faithfully preaching and teaching God's Word while also travelling to neighboring Chiquitano communities via motorcycle to share the Gospel.

We give thanks to God for his life and for his testimony of the transformational power of God that continues to inspire others to follow the same path.
