As some of you know, we have been working for over a year to receive funding through an OCRA Grant... and in February, we were funded! The funds are specifically for finishing the interior of the first building (the building that you see on the hill)

We can finally MOVE FORWARD!

We have so so many people to thank! Special Thank You's to those of you who donated to our Moving Forward Campaign. That initial campaign was needed to raise the matching funds for the grant.

We have met with the project engineers twice already to go over timelines, and construction needs. They seem as eager as we do to get this project done!

Thank you to all our supporters! We have called upon you time and again, and you continue to stand with us!

There is still much more to do to complete the vision. One step at a time!🍀🍀

So early this year, the Memorial Park Water project was approved to proceed! The project includes bringing water and sewer up the hill from SR 3 and loop through the south side. This project will provide additional water to all the entities, including Henry County Memorial Park. But this project is especially important for the Henry County 4-H Center project to move forward.

The engineers have begun design and survey for the water/sewer infrastructure project! I even saw them surveying in the rain!

Stop the rain so we can build a shelter!
Its been a long wait but the Sanders Shelter will be rebuilt this spring!
A big thank you to our partners on this project! Specifically to Jim Ward, and CFH Enterprises. They have put a lot of hours into the designs and plans for the shelter. Amazing people!

After discussions with the family, and the park, the shelter will be built in Memorial Park near the tennis courts and playground.

If all goes to plan, the new Sanders Shelter at Henry County Memorial Park will be built by Memorial Day.

Have you seen our lights!? We are Moving Forward, its slow, yes , but we are moving. Here is what is going on: We are currently waiting on approval at the state level to release the Readi 2.0 funds to start the water/sewer project for the whole area. We are on the edge of our seat waiting to hear back on this because... as we all know, we need water!
We are also working towards a grant to complete the construction of Building No.1- We were not funded in Round 1 so we are going through Round 2. We will know on Round 2 in early 2026. In the meantime, we are finishing a few items including some outdoor lighting!

We meet every week to work on this project. If you would like help us, we are open to new board members!

A big thank you to our electrician, a fellow 4-H dad, who has put in so much work! I am constantly amazed at our community and the goodwill put into this project!

POSTPONED!! Denton the weather they are moving the kickoff to tomorrow night, Sunday night!
Tonight at the 4-H Fair we will give an update on what going with the new 4-H Center
6:45 under the tent by the Smith Building right before the Kickoff Event at 7pm

We must give a big thanks to Cooperative for their willingness to support our MOVING FORWARD Campaign.... because now we can move forward!!

We met our goal in order to apply for the grant! We will know in August if we receive the grant but we wouldn't have been able to apply without our community partners!

We did it! We made it to our goal! We have so many partners to Thank and one of them is NineStar Connect ! We were awarded funds through their Operation Round Up Fund. But not only have they supported us through this fund they have donated time and materials to set us up for internet.
We have a wonderful community! We appreciate their support and knowing the value in this project.

We have so many people to thank for helping us reach our goal! Henry Community Health stepped up in a BIG WAY and we appreciate their support. We not only thank them for helping us MOVE FORWARD but also a big thanks for all they do in our community to make it AWESOME!

We met our initial goal of $165,000 in order to apply for a grant through OCRA
We will move into Phase 2 of our MOVE FORWARD campaign this summer. We still have lots to do out there.

We met our goal! 🥳🥳 We have some big THANK YOU's coming soon! Since I know you have been on pins and needles, I wanted to make sure you knew that we have what we need to apply!

Please know that our Moving Forward Campaign continues! There are still expenses beyond what the grant covers, such as a parking lot.

Our application is due June 20 so between now and then we work on budgets and design!
