Statement Regarding SB 100 and Recent Legislation Activities:
Delaware Pride has been waiting patiently for the end of the legislative session to see how everything would turn out, and we are elated to recognize the passage of the first leg of SB 100. SB 100 is the bill for the amendment to the Delaware State Constitution that recognizes same-sex and in*******al marriage and enshrines it into our Constitution. While we recognize that this legislation must again pass in either the 2027 or 2028 General Assembly, we are hopeful that our community continues to be actively supported by the Delaware Legislature.
It is also important to recognize how much effort it took to get us here, when those who claimed to support the community did not want to go on the record with their vote of yes in the initial round of voting, or simply did not want to vote at all. We implore those individuals to remember that legislators work for the people they serve, not for their special interests.
Delaware Pride is proud to serve the LGBTQIA+ community of Delaware and proud to continue it's work in a state that supports our community, we hope you will join us in our continued fight for equality and calls for a better tomorrow. We must continue to hold each other close, and hold our leaders accountable.
