330 kiddos received Christmas gifts this year, thanks to God’s provision through the amazing generosity of some very special donors and sponsors! Despite only reaching about 50% of our sponsorship goal, God still exceeded our goal of reaching 300 kids. Even better, nearly all these kids attended Christmas parties where they heard the Gospel message of Jesus Christ as the best Christmas gift ever! Even as we’re already fundraising for Navidad International (Donorbox.org/GHF-Christmas-2026), we still have some pictures to share from our second round of Back To School distribution last month! After additional shopping and a couple extra weeks for shipping, 15 more kids in La Ureña received backpacks and supplies, along with a little ice cream party! 🍁 Happy Fall in the U.S., and early 🎄Feliz Navidad Internacional🌴 to kick off our annual Christmas sponsorship season! 🎊

✝️ We remain committed to celebrating and sharing the gift of our Savior Jesus Christ, and this year's goal is to reach 500 kids from 4 separate communities! 🇩🇴

🙏 This year’s total Christmas program funding goal is $11,000, so EVERY donation, prayer, and share counts to make the kids’ full party experience possible! 💝

🛫 Once again, we have a group of American volunteers who are excited to travel to the DR for ministry at the kids' parties! However, we first need to secure trip funding for the Ramirez family to host these volunteers and lead the party efforts. We estimate the family's total trip expenses to be around $5,000. 🛬

🎊 With God's blessing through your support, our whole international team will join our local Dominican volunteers in hosting the Navidad Internacional parties just after the New Year. As usual, kids will receive their gifts at our evangelical Christmas parties, which will also include food, a lesson, and other activities. The typical price range for each child's gift is $10-15, and party expenses are estimated at $100 each. This brings our party funding goal to $6,000. 💝

The following 64 kids also received their school supplies during our recent mission trip, bringing our total to 121 students blessed by the love and generosity of our Back To School sponsors! Thank you so very much!!! 💛

*A few kids were unable to be matched with an undershirt and/or socks to fit them as our supplies ran out, so our team will have to catch up with those kids later to complete their supplies.

**We hope to ship more backpacks to the DR from Orlando this week and fund another shopping trip and distribution by our local team in the coming weeks for the approximately 100 kids who didn’t receive supplies yet. You can help fund this additional goal at Donorbox.org/GHF-BTS-2026

On July 20th, our first 2 groups of school supply recipients included 57 kids from preschool through high school, who shared a snack and a special prayer over their upcoming school year before choosing their backpack colors and receiving the rest of their items. Part 2 of the capital portion of our mission trip was a visit to the community of La Ureña, where we’ve been supporting children’s and medical ministries for several years now. Leaders from the Puerto Rican mission team joined us to meet the core group of children, tour the neighborhood, and explore what next steps of ministry God may have in store!

This severely impoverished community reminds us of Altagracia just a few years back, and God has really burdened all our hearts for our neighbors there. The children are so inspired by our partner Marisol’s ministry team, but their meeting space (these very first pictures) is far from adequate, resulting in many cancellations due to weather. Ministers Marisol and Michael pour their hearts into their community, while their own home has been under construction for many months with a lot of work still needed. We toured their home and looked out from their newly constructed rooftop, reminded of those friends from the Bible who climbed to the roof seeking Jesus’ help for their friend…

We’re confident that the Holy Spirit is moving in La Ureña and in the hearts of the Giving Hands family, including our Puerto Rican brothers and sisters, to pursue Jesus’ provision for our friends there!

Our dream is to purchase land and build a ministry center to host worship services, children’s Bible school, and medical outreach. We even looked at land for sale during our community tour. We know God has great plans to show His love and glory in this place!

Last week’s mission trip included a very special collaboration with a team from Puerto Rico, which included some of the first missionaries to impact Dr. Jacob’s life over 25 years ago! What a beautiful reunion it was!!

For Part 1, some of our Giving Hands medical team members helped gather medications from local pharmacies and then treated patients during both days’ events. In addition to medical care, the team from Puerto Rico provided bags of groceries to 150 families, ministered to over 60 children through games and Bible lessons, served snacks and drinks to all in attendance, and hosted family worship services. What an amazing impact!

The Ramirez kids enjoyed participating in the kids’ games after helping count grocery items and medications. It was an honor to serve as part of this sweet team of compassionate individuals, and we look forward to continuing and building upon this beautiful collaboration in the coming months! Praise God!!!
