Checks and pictures not picked up during the designated times at the Extension Office will automatically be brought to the Annual Joint Junior Livestock Association Meeting on Wednesday, October 1, at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds. The meeting starts at 7:00 pm but checks and pictures can be signed out from 6:30-7:00 pm.
A few things to note:
• All checks not cashed within 60 days will be forfeited to the association.
• As a reminder, the association will not mail checks to exhibitors, and the association is not responsible for getting your picture(s) to your buyer(s).
• If you cannot attend a scheduled pick-up time, you will need to call the Extension Office (724-654-8370) to make arrangements. Due to staffing limitations and office availability, we cannot guarantee that someone will be at the office if you do not call ahead and schedule a pick-up time with staff. On Fridays, the Extension Office is closed to the public.
• Premium checks are distributed through the Lawrence County Fair Premium Office – Please contact them directly with any questions regarding premiums.
2026 PA Farm Show
For those exhibiting market hogs, lambs, or goats at the 2026 PA Farm Show, all animals need an 840 RFID tag. If you do not have one, please reach out to the Extension Office. If your animal already has an 840 number, you will need to share that number with Cassidy at [email protected].
All market hog, lamb, and goat exhibitors will need to register, with their 840 number, by October 15, with the PA Farm Show at pafarmliv.fairentry.com. At the time of registration, you will be required to upload proof of completion of the Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) training. The certificate must be valid for the duration of the Farm Show. You can complete the training online at https://yqcaprogram.org/. DNA samples are also due October 15 – Families can request their own kits, but some are available at the Extension Office (anyone who notified their intent to show can grab a kit at the October 1 Junior Livestock Meeting).
Market turkey entries are due by December 1; Please reach out for market rabbit registration information.
