After 10 years of operation, including during the pandemic, Open Pomme Orchard is now scaling back. Weather, fire blight, and Life’s changes caused us to reevaluate the orchard. While we’ll miss seeing the people who also love our apples and our fresh c***r, we are now enjoying our retired lives, vacations, and more time spent with our grandchildren.
Our first six years as an orchard we were a part of This Old Farmers market in Beavercreek where we made many vendor friends and friends with customers who continued to support us. That market, run by Brian, Laurie, and Amy, was so much fun. Seeing people line up for our apples, c***r, and peaches really made it all worthwhile. We were sad to see that popular market go, but we settled on running the market stall from our orchard and barn. Since 2016, Open Pomme Orchard has produced apples and c***r for the community and in turn donated approximately $8000 to the Dayton Food Bank.
We won’t have a market this year, but we’ll take care of our remaining trees, keep the c***r press, and keep our page. Your support and enjoyment of our apples and c***r, and your friendship, made these 10 years very memorable for us. Thank you.
