Healthy Kids New Brunswick

Healthy Kids New Brunswick Communities Making a Difference to Prevent Childhood Obesity We want to ensure that it is easy for children to eat healthy foods and be active.

New Jersey Partnership for Healthy Kids- New Brunswick (NJPHK-NB) emphasizes policy and environmental change strategies to address the issue of childhood obesity. NJPHK-NB is co-directed by New Brunswick Tomorrow and the Raritan Valley YMCA, and comprises faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, health care institutions, residents, schools and early childhood centers, universities

and the City of New Brunswick. Rather than focus on developing new programs to help New Brunswick children eat well and move more, NJPHK-NB focuses on enhancing policies and the places where children live, learn and play. New Jersey Partnership for Healthy Kids (NJPHK) is a statewide program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). The goal of the program is to convene, connect and empower community partnerships across the state to implement environment and policy changing strategies that prevent childhood obesity. Community coalitions in Trenton, Camden, Newark, New Brunswick, and Vineland are leading these efforts.
