Meet our of the month, Stacey Palant LC’92!

After more than 30 years in public education, Stacey is retiring, reflecting on the Rutgers moment that helped shape her career. As a freshman, she came across a flyer in her campus mailbox inviting students to learn about speech-language pathology. That one flyer introduced her to a field she would dedicate her career to, helping children and families reach important milestones. As she begins this next chapter, Stacey has a message for fellow alumni: Never underestimate your impact. Sometimes, one small gesture can change a life.

Over the past year, Distinguished Professor Joanna Burger and Professor Emeritus Michael Gochfeld have each given to Rutgers to establish professorships that will continue to advance research and scholarship in the fields to which they have devoted their careers.

“The studies that we have done and the work that will continue to be done here at Rutgers are critically important to sustaining and improving human health in home, community, and workplace environments,” said Gochfeld. “It is gratifying to know that we can support these efforts that have meant so much to us into the future.”

The Scarlet Promise Initiative helps students not only survive at Rutgers University, but also THRIVE.

The initiative supports students through need-based financial aid, research and internship stipends, emergency financial support, food security resources, career counseling, and more.

Working as one, we can transcend the forces that historically have prevented many students from realizing their remarkable potential.

Make a gift to the Scarlet Promise Endowment and empower today!

Contributions to this fund build an endowment to ensure long-term support for the Scarlet Promise initiative. Interest income from the endowed fund provides essential annual aid to students for whom a Rutgers education would otherwise not be possible.…
