LAARU proudly participated in the 2026 Rutgers University Rites of Passage Ceremony in New Brunswick, a pre-commencement celebration recognizing undergraduate and graduate students as they complete their academic journeys.
We are grateful to the Paul Robeson Cultural Center for including LAARU in such a meaningful celebration, and we extend our congratulations to everyone involved in organizing this year’s ceremony. From helping run the event to presenting stoles to graduating students, it was an honor to contribute to such a powerful moment of community, culture, and achievement.
Established in 1992 by Juanita Jones Daly, the ceremony remains inclusive of all students while honoring the significance of historically marginalized students reaching this important milestone in higher education. Bringing together students, families, and supporters from Rutgers campuses in New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden, the ceremony continues to celebrate resilience, persistence, identity, and academic success. 🎓✨🖤🤎❤️
