"New Brunswick, it just keeps getting better." Mayor Jim Cahill + City Council members announce re-election bid.

New Brunswick Mayor Jim Cahill announced Thursday his bid for re-election with Councilman Kevin Egan and Councilwoman Rebecca Escobar

Statement from Mayor Jim Cahill on the certification of the election results in the City's recent school board referendum:

"The voters of New Brunswick have decided to move in a new direction and elect the members to the Board of Education. The success of our education system is paramount to the success of our City and our residents. It is important that current and future students are well prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities they will face as residents of our community and in their careers.

As we move forward, we must work together to ensure this new system will provide the best education for our students. To that end, we must make sure our next Board of Education continues to consist of the most qualified, competent and experienced members and represents the great diversity of our City.

I look forward to working with Board members, educators, parents and residents in our ongoing efforts to make New Brunswick’s public schools the very best they can be."
