Delta Epsilon Psi | Kappa Chapter | Rutgers University

Delta Epsilon Psi | Kappa Chapter | Rutgers University ΔEΨ | Delta Epsilon Psi Fraternity, Inc. Delta Epsilon Psi was created on the founding principles of Brotherhood, Discipline, and Commitment.

Since its establishment in 1998, these principles have guided the fraternity to creating young men who become the leaders of the future. It was the vision of our Founding Fathers to spread these principles to the young men across the nation in hopes to build a strong brotherhood that unites men of all cultures, religions and backgrounds. With determination and hard work, this fraternity has spread that brotherhood to young collegiate men from all over the nation.

Last year, Vinay Prakash, Nisarg Shah, and Avanish Patel and a few other brothers went to the city to give out care packages to people who were homeless. This year, they are planning to go to the city one week before Thanksgiving to do the same thing with just as much love and care as last year.

Each care package will contain 1 pair of socks, 1 pair of gloves, 1 deodorant, 1 Chapstick, 1 bottle of lotion, 40 antibacterial wipes, 120 box of tissues, 1 toothbrush, 1 toothpaste, and 2 cups of applesauce.

Each feminine care package (which will be given to all in need of feminine hygiene products in addition to a normal care package) will contain 10 tampons and 8 maxi pads.

If you can donate (any amount), we'd greatly appreciate it.

If you are going to donate, please venmo -Prakash, with the message "care". Thank you for taking the time to read this!

"In his brief 38 years in this world, Miten made an impact on so many of the people around him and provided a guide to all of his brothers on how to live selflessly and embody the concept of brotherhood. Miten was one of the founders of Zeta Chapter of Delta Epsilon Psi at Baylor University. Prior to joining the fraternity Miten demonstrated his commitment and brotherhood by joining the Army and serving our great nation. Once his service was complete in the military, he came to Baylor and was eager to get involved with starting Delta Epsilon Psi. During the pledging process, Miten showed a commitment not only to his brothers, but also to his community and his culture. Miten was always happy to be involved in community events such as volunteering for habitat for humanity or going to Garbas hosted in the Waco community. His service continued during his time at Baylor and throughout his life. Miten was always the first person to show up and offer to help at any event or activity and the last one to leave.

Miten was a unique human being, his energy would always fill up the room with positivity, his smile would make everyone smile as well and his ability to live in the moment and make each moment count was something to be admired. His generosity knew no bounds, if Miten saw that someone he loved needed something, he would spare no expense to ensure that they have everything they want to be happy. There is no doubt that each and every brother who has met Miten, has some crazy story of how Miten has done Capoeira in a club, or a story of how generous and open he was with all his friends and family.

Miten was, is and always will be the definition of brotherhood in the fraternity. He embodied what it meant to care for those who he loved. He put the needs of the many ahead of the need of his own. He embodied the pillars which we live by – brotherhood, discipline and commitment. And will be missed by all of us. I encourage everyone to remember him for who he was, a man who could make the best out of any situation, a man who served his country and a man who truly lived in the moment. Let’s learn to be more like Miten and make the short time we have in this world, the best life we could possibly live.

Miten is survived by his wife Arti Patel and his family in Waco, Texas. To them, we express our sincerest condolences. If there is anything which they need, we encourage you to lend a hand in any way you are able to. Rest in peace Miten Patel; Founding Class, Zeta Chapter"

This April 28th, Delta Epsilon Psi Kappa Chapter at Rutgers University will be holding a 5K walk in honor of Jaynish Patel, a brother who passed away from Ewing's Sarcoma on March 17th, 2013.

During his lifetime, Jaynish was a caring and compassionate man. Through this walk, we hope to continue to carry on not only his ideals but also his commitment toward giving back to the community, allowing his legacy to grow further.

We hope to replicate the success of the first walk, in which we were able to raise $10,766 and have over 350 participants. Jaynish was a man who's selflessness was unrivaled and through this walk in his name, we hope to continue to carry his legacy and have the impact on our community that he continually displayed himself.

The location for the walk will be the Livingston Recreational Fields. We request that you register online, and contribute a donation of $15 if you are willing to walk. Each walker will receive a "4J" shirt and also a customized bracelet for the walk.

We would greatly appreciate any amount of donation as all proceeds go to the Tomorrow's Children Fund.
