Somali Bantu Community of Connecticut

Somali Bantu Community of Connecticut Building a Joyful and Thriving Bantu Community Together. From cultural festivals to educational initiatives, our journey is filled with joy and empowerment.

The Somali Bantu Community of Connecticut (SBCCT) is a non-profit organization established in October 2009, primarily dedicated to supporting the resettlement and integration of the Somali Bantu community within Connecticut. Our community is a testament to resilience, where individuals come together to support one another, fostering happiness, growth, and harmony. Join us as we share in the spirit

of togetherness, thriving as a tightly-knit Bantu family dedicated to a brighter, more promising future. The organization extends a diverse range of educational, cultural, and workshop programs, all strategically designed to nurture and empower self-sufficiency not only within the Somali Bantu Community but also within various other refugee communities facing marginalization and challenges. The organization consists of a dedicated team, including a Board of Directors, Officers, an Acting Director, and oversight committees, all working together to support the community through a self-help model. The center's primary emphasis is on education as a way to empower and uplift the Somali Bantus. As part of this mission, it offers a comprehensive array of ESL and Citizenship Classes tailored to address their specific requirements and bridge any existing gaps.
