Excellent night of fly tying at American Legion Alamo Post 2-Official Site. Tonight the beginners tied two different trout flies (Walt’s Worm and the F-Fly) lead by Bob. While, Chuck taught the intermediate folks the Llano Bug, which will come in handy next week on the Llano River. We were also lucky to have Chris join us from the PHW Camp Lejeune Program. In true southern hospitality, we recognized him with our very own Project Healing Waters patch.

PHW SATX was incredibly fortunate to partner with Guadalupe River State Park - Texas Parks & Wildlife for their first Veterans Mental Health Awareness Ruck Hike. One person can make a difference, but a community can bring the world together.

🥾 Join Us for a Veterans Mental Health Awareness Ruck Hike!

Tomorrow, September 19, we're honored to host a Veterans Mental Health Awareness Ruck Hike at Guadalupe River State Park. This event is dedicated to supporting veterans and their families while raising awareness about mental health, resilience and the importance of community connection.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and all hikes are self-guided, so participants are welcome to stop by anytime during the event. Choose from a short or long route, bring a flag, wear memorabilia, ruck with a weighted pack, or simply come out and show your support for our veteran community.

The weather is looking favorable for a morning on the trails, making it a great opportunity to get outside, enjoy the park and support an important cause.

We'll also have a Texas State Parks information table on site where staff can help issue Parklands Passports to qualifying visitors. If you think you may be eligible, stop by and visit with us while you're there!
