Two class days, two sides of local government, and a whole lot of learning!

Back in September, our 10th and 11th grade YLNB students got a behind-the-scenes look at county government with stops at the Comal County Jail, District Attorney’s Office, and Comal County, Texas Commissioners Court.

This month, they participated in City Day, where our students got to visit with City Of New Braunfels - Government , Parks & Recreation at Das Rec , the City of New Braunfels Fire Department, the Westside Branch of the New Braunfels Public Library, and the New Braunfels Police Department.

They got to see firsthand how their community works, ask questions, and meet the people who make it all happen. We love getting our students out into the community and giving them these experiences!

Yesterday we spent the first anniversary of the proclamation of Braunfels Foundation Trust Day carrying out an important part of our mission: empowering the youth of New Braunfels. There is nothing we love more than watching the young people of our community grow, lead, and thrive. Though the proclamation may only be a year old, it recognizes a legacy of service the BFT has provided for decades. Thank you to everyone who supports our efforts and makes this work possible every single day.

Here’s to celebrating this anniversary by living out our purpose!

A huge thank you to the transportation team at New Braunfels ISD!

Once a month, our YLNB students head out across New Braunfels as they develop leadership skills and learn about the community, and the incredible transportation team at NBISD ensures they get there and back safely, reliably, and with a smile. We are so grateful for the drivers and support staff who make these opportunities possible for our future leaders.

Our adult leadership retreat was one for the books!

Over the course of two days, our LNB Class of 2027 stepped away from work and the day-to-day to invest in themselves and one another. Through conversation, reflection, challenge, and time spent together, they had space to learn, connect, and think about the year ahead.

We’re excited for all that is to come!
