UPDATE (June 8, 2026 – 11:28 a.m.):

The Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the body found in the Guadalupe River on June 2, 2026 as that of 59-year old Juliet Elizabeth Watson. Watson had previously been reported missing from the Lincoln Street area on May 26, leading to several searches for her along the Comal River and Guadalupe River, with her body being discovered as part of one of those searches. Following positive identification from the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office, next of kin was notified. A cause of death has not yet been determined, but there are currently no signs of foul play. A final determination on cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner and is pending toxicology reports.

Body of Deceased Female Located in Guadalupe River

On today’s date (June 2, 2026) at approximately 6:00pm, the body of a deceased female was located in the Guadalupe River during a planned search conducted by the New Braunfels Police and Fire Departments in coordination with Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR) and the New Braunfels Community Emergency Response Team (NBCERT). The body has not yet been positively identified.

The search was being conducted as part of the efforts to locate 59-year-old Juliet Elizabeth Watson, who was reported missing on May 26, 2026. This area has been the focus of several searches within the past week. During the search, the body of an adult female was discovered along the banks of the Guadalupe River near the 700 block of Rusk Lane. At the time of this release, the body has not been able to be identified but is being sent to a medical examiner for an autopsy and identification. The case remains under investigation by the New Braunfels Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.

Southeastern Guadalupe County in south central Texas...
West central Gonzales County in south central Texas...

* Until 1100 PM CDT.

* At 1021 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located over New Berlin, or 7 miles southeast of
Cibolo, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

Seguin, McQueeney, and New Berlin around 1025 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Belmont, Bebe, Nolte, Zipp, Monthalia, and Leesville.

floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
