Sometimes there isn’t just one right answer.

Our cadets were given a conflict between two landowners and had to look at the situation from both sides. Everyone came together, shared their thoughts, listened to different perspectives, and worked through how they would handle it.

Camp wasn’t just about learning wildlife management. It challenged our cadets to think for themselves, communicate, and understand that every decision can affect more than one person. 🌵🦌

There’s a lot more to managing wildlife than just knowing the animal!

Our cadets got a look at some of the tools and techniques used in wildlife and habitat management, from trapping and feeders to the decisions landowners and wildlife managers make every day.

Camp gave cadets the chance to learn from people who actually work with Texas wildlife and ask plenty of questions along the way.

🦌 Ever wondered what it takes to grow a set of antlers like these?

Our cadets got an up-close look at antler growth and learned how a buck’s age, nutrition, genetics, and environment all play a part in what he grows each year.

At Brigade, we didn’t just talk about whitetails—we got our hands on the things we were learning about!

🚨 There’s been a wildlife crime… now what?

That was up to our cadets to figure out during Who Dun It!

Cadets stepped into the role of a Texas Game Warden and worked the scene from start to finish. They searched for evidence, asked questions, inspected what they found, and pieced together what happened while learning what it really takes to uphold Texas wildlife laws.

For a little while, they weren’t just learning about conservation—they were the ones responsible for protecting it. 🦌🌵

Could you solve the case?

What does doing the right thing really mean?

One of the many lessons our cadets took home from camp was the importance of hunting ethics and hunter safety. They talked about knowing right from wrong and how the choices we make as hunters and conservationists matter.

It’s more than knowing the rules. It’s doing the right thing even when no one is watching.

🪢 Teamwork put to the test!

During camp, our cadets took on Ropes & Cans, where they had to build a pyramid using only ropes. It took communication, patience, and plenty of teamwork to get it done!

Think you could build it?
