The Redbank Valley Community Center Board has come to the very difficult decision to sell the building on Broad Street in New Bethlehem and to cease operations as of December 31st, 2026. We will continue to take reservations for private events and honor all events that are already on the books until that date.
This has not been an easy decision. Two years ago, the center was in bad shape and in danger of closing. We tried everything in our power to keep this place open, but our efforts were not successful. We have a long history with this project. This property was purchased by Leatherwood Church and community minded individuals back in 2010 with a vision of a community center in our town. After 3 years of renovations, it was opened up in 2013 and became its own 501-C3 organization in 2015. Since then, we have hosted a senior center, girl scout meetings, the knitter's group, daddy/daughter and mommy/son dances, after school tutoring, community youth group, bonfire nights, community meals, various animal hunts, Stumpy's Haunted Basement, a Christmas decorating contest, and so much more.
We hate to see all of these things go by the wayside, but we are hopeful that another community minded organization can take this property and use it for the betterment of the Redbank Valley. If you have interest in the property, please reach out to Pat Merwin realty.
Also, I would like to thank everyone by name who have helped in any and every way, but there are just too many people to personally fo this. We rebuilt this place from the studs out with volunteer labor. We ran this place for 13 years with a volunteer board. We thrived on our community coming together to make things work here, and we were truly blessed by your efforts, your prayers, and your financial gifts. Thank you so much for 16 great years!
Signed,
Doug Henry and the Board of RVCC
