The bags and stations are provided and maintained by Redbank Renaissance. Your donations help keep your shoes clean with the help of responsible pet owners. Many thanks to Redbank Valley High School 6th graders and their teachers who pitched in on Friday, April 24th. They helped out by cleaning ditches, picked up litter along the trail and helped do weeding and landscaping at the Library, Redbank Creek Park gardens by the dam and Gumtown Park. Thanks for taking pride in our community! The event was sponsored and coordinated by RVTA and Redbank Renaissance who provided gloves, tools and water.

The 10th annual Redbank Valley Days of Giving will be held on May 7, 8, 9th this year. Please see the flyer for more information on how to donate.

Redbank Renaissance formed in 2007 with a multifaceted approach to revitalize our area. We are working with Clarion Co. Tourism and the Main Street Regional initiative with a particular goal of funding more façade improvements in the business district to add to those previously helped, including renovations by Lifeway Services to the old Andrews Theater, the Leader-Vindicator, Evermoore’s and others. A well-maintained business district invites travelers to stop and spend money here. We hope to raise $5000 to support ongoing efforts which include the Garden Keepers who help plant, maintain and improve the public gardens and to fund façade, signage and bike rack matching grants to help area businesses and promote tourism. Other efforts include maintaining our 3 welcome signs; promotion of area history with historic markers; business promotion (signage and website), regional Welcome Brochures (print costs); business assistance; community clean ups, Dog-i-Pot stations with bags for dog owners to pick up waste and our community calendar. All efforts depend on public donations. Volunteers are welcomed. Information: www.redbankren.org/donation, on Facebook or by calling 814-275-1718.

Contact Sandy if interested in attending a Day of Giving Planning meeting for the May 7th Day of Giving.

Email [email protected] or reply here if interested in applying for a facade grant through DCED. If we can find up to 10 businesses willing to spend up to $10,000 to get up to $10,000, we are considering applying for a DCED facade grant to be managed by Redbank Renaissance. This is separate from CCEDC's Main Street regional program effort and would be limited to businesses in New Bethlehem.

Redbank Renaissance has done several successful facade grants but is limited in what we can do by donations. A grant from DCED could make more improvements possible. Facade grants could include signage, siding, painting, windows, doors, awnings, wood repair and brick tuckpointing to improve a building's outward experience. It would not include interior repairs.

Please consider voting for our local businesses and events in the Leader Vindicator's Reader's Choice Awards contest which runs until Feb. 6th. You can vote everyday. Winning the Readers Choice contest provides welcome advertising for our local businesses, events and groups and The Leader-Vindicator. We are fortunate that we still have a local newspaper that willingly promotes our events at little or no cost through articles. Thanks!
