October is ADHD Awareness Month! The ADHD Awareness Month coalition is partnering with organizations around the world with the shared global goal of dissemination of reliable information about ADHD and its treatments.

We encourage the ADHD community to increase awareness and understanding by sharing ADHD information and supports with all who could benefit. You can find more information about ADHD on the websites of our coalition members: ADHD Coaches Organization (ACO), Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA), and Children and Adults with ADHD (CHADD).

You can make a difference by sharing your ADHD art, ADHD stories, and ADHD memes to inform and inspire.

Congratulations to Our HHS Teen Court Attorneys! 🎉

Please join us in congratulating three of our Havelock High School students who have recently become Teen Court Attorneys with Craven County Teen Court! Please join me in congratulating Jasmine Haynes, Reagan Snow, and Isabella Esparza!

Teen Court, through The Mediation Center of Eastern NC, is an alternative program to the traditional juvenile court system that gives young people the opportunity to learn about the justice system through hands-on participation. Students in grades 7–12 can serve in a variety of roles, including attorneys, clerks, bailiffs, and jury members.

Our HHS students have taken on the important responsibility of serving as attorneys, gaining valuable experience in public speaking, legal procedures, teamwork, and advocacy while contributing to their community.

We are incredibly proud of these students for stepping outside of the classroom and embracing this unique leadership and service opportunity!

Congratulations to all the New Volunteers in our Teen Court Program! And this is from only half (approximately) of the county! West Craven and New Bern are up next on our recruitment agenda! Congruant with that, back into Pamlico we go! This is a great group and I look forward to what they will achieve.
