Thanks to a grant from Weyerhaeuser Giving fund, our we were able to sponsor 270 wreaths to be placed on the Veterans graves this year at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Thank you for your support and generosity!

Wreath clean up this Saturday. Please come out to Cedar Grove Cemetery at 11am to assist with collecting wreaths. Possum Wood Acres will once again collect all wreaths to build animal habitats.

Good Morning from Ocho Rios, Jamaica! Really big news!!!!!! We have made our wreath sponsorship goal for this year! Thank you so much for all involved! Now we push to support Wreaths Across America - New Bern! We can definitely do this!!!

A big change is coming for 2026! We strive to honor them all!

We have a young man going for his Eagle Scout and has made identifying all veterans buried in Cedar Grove and the annex his Eagle Scout project. As of right now we can identify 375 veterans in Cedar Grove. With his work in collaboration with the New Bern Historical Society, they have identified over 500 veterans in both graveyards combined. His project will split the graveyards into sections with laminated rosters of veterans for each section. This will make marking graves and laying wreaths so much easier. He is hoping to have the project completed after the first of the year. Once completed we will be raising our wreath count to reflect the correct number of veterans to honor. If your available on January 4th at 1pm, please come out and assist him with his first marking of all veterans graves and the test run for his project. He is open to all ideas and ways to make the process easy for all.

We have one day left for the Wreath Match event. We are at 321 of 500 wreaths sponsored for next year! Have a Happy New Year!

We spent this morning installing a VA headstone for William Ennever, Comm Sergeant (Union), 158 NY Infantry at Cedar Grove Cemetery. We strive to not only honor them with wreaths each year, we also make sure that all veterans without headstones receive what they rate.

We are almost halfway to our goal for next year. We have deposited funds from the Wreaths Across America Chili Cook-off and sponsors that have taken advantage of the Wreaths Across America Matching Program have gotten us to where we are. We have raised our number to 500 for this year to cover all veterans at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Thanks to the New Bern Historical Society and Mr. Hamill, they have identified those veterans that are not marked and we will start honoring them next year. The matching program will end on December 31st. Let's push to closeout 2026 early and give our full support to Wreaths Across America - New Bern!

12/18/2025

Saturday January 17th is the wreath cleanup at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Please be there at 11am so we can start the cleanup process. We will once again give all wreaths to Possum Wood Acres wildlife sanctuary to be used to build wildlife habitats. Bring anything you need to help gather and transport the wreaths to the staging area. See you all out there! For those interested in cleanup at New Bern National Cemetery, they will start at 9am.
