Had a great Trails meeting today. This is the DRAFT recommendation for the Mountains to Sea Trail. It is 128 miles from New Bern to Cedar Island with over 55 miles of off-road hiking trails through the Croatan National Forest. What do you think?

I'm sure many of you have already seen this but the National Park Service is working on a Management Plan for the Blue Ridge Parkway that has several cycling groups concerned. Tomorrow night at the Havelock Tourist and Event Center there will be a Public Hearing on the proposed Havelock Bypass. Pre-Hearing Workshop from 4:30-6:30 (informal, open house-style, public meeting), Public Hearing begins at 7:00 PM with formal presentation of project followed by public comment opportunity.

This bypass project has been identified as a potential Mountains to Sea Trail option. Please come out and give your input if you're available.
