Happy Flag Day from Post 2514!

On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the flag of the United States. As we count down toward America's 250th birthday in 2026, that same flag still flies over our Post, our schools, our courthouses, and our homes β€” a living reminder of who we are and what generations of veterans have sacrificed to protect.

There was a time when every classroom in America started the day the same way: hands over hearts, eyes on the flag, voices together. That shared moment didn't divide us β€” it united us. It reminded every student, no matter their background, that they were part of something bigger than themselves.

That spirit is exactly what VFW Post 2514 works to keep alive in New Bern. Through our Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen youth programs, our flag etiquette and retirement ceremonies, and our presence at community events, we strive to pass that sense of pride and unity on to the next generation β€” especially as we lead up to our nation's Semiquincentennial.

Today, take a moment to fly your flag, teach a young person what it stands for, and thank a veteran for the freedoms it represents.
God Bless America, and God Bless our Veterans.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Commander's Message: Today, June 14th, we celebrate two milestones close to my heart: Flag Day and the 251st Birthday of the U.S. Army.

As an Army veteran, I had the honor of serving under that flag β€” the same Stars and Stripes adopted in 1777, a symbol of the freedoms generations of soldiers have fought to defend. The Army's story began even before our nation's, and its legacy is woven into everything Old Glory represents.

With America's 250th right around the corner, this year's celebration means even more.

Join us at Dixon-Conderman VFW Post 2514 Today, 12:30 pm – 7:30 pm, for fellowship, and fun β€” with Army Birthday cake cutting at 5 pm. All are welcome.

Proud to serve. Proud to support. Proud to be VFW. πŸŽ‚πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Happy 251st Birthday to the United States Army! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

On June 14, 1775, the Continental Congress established the United States Army, making it the oldest branch of our nation's military. For more than two centuries, Soldiers have answered the call to defend our country, protect our freedoms, and serve with honor both at home and abroad.

Today, we recognize and celebrate the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of all who have worn the Army uniform. We thank our Army veterans, active-duty Soldiers, National Guard members, Reservists, and Army families for their service to our nation.
Join us in wishing the U.S. Army a very Happy Birthday!

Happy Flag Day! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Each year on June 14, we celebrate Flag Day to honor the adoption of the American flag by the Continental Congress in 1777. Our flag represents the ideals, freedoms, and sacrifices that have shaped our nation for nearly 250 years.

The Stars and Stripes have flown over moments of triumph and hardship, serving as a symbol of unity, resilience, and hope. On this Flag Day, we remember the men and women who have served under our nation's flag and continue to protect the freedoms it represents.

Take a moment today to proudly display your flag and reflect on the values that bring us together as Americans.

God Bless Our Veterans, Active-Duty Service Members, and the United States of America.

Today, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944.

The D-Day landings marked the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe and stand as one of the most significant military operations in history. On this 82nd Anniversary of the Battle of Normandy, we honor the brave men who faced impossible odds in defense of freedom and reflect on the legacy they left for future generations.

Their valor changed the course of history. Their sacrifice must never be forgotten.

Dixon-Conderman VFW Post 2514 proudly joins our nation in remembering the heroes of D-Day and honoring all who have served in defense of liberty.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Never Forget.
πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Honor Their Service.
πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Preserve Their Legacy.
