2025 ETYSA Queen Anne’s Revenge Jr Regatta The Queen Anne’s Revenge was the flagship of the pirate Edward Teach, infamously known as “Blackbeard”. The ship was formerly a French privateer that was captured by Blackbeard in 1717. While he sailed her, she carried a complement of 300 pirates an...

A special shoutout this morning to our Junior Instructor Andrew Connolly and our Junior-Instructor-in-Training Scarlett Hansen for their first place finish at the James Island YC Annual Father’s Day Regatta this past weekend in the C420 class!!

With coaching from Instructor Aiden Hansen the pair performed well in day one in strong breeze and Charleston Harbors notorious currents. A capsize in race two took them out of the lead but they were still able to place third after righting the boat. The boats were called in after two races due to lightning in the area.

Day two saw more moderate breeze and the ETYSA crew sitting in third place overall but tied for second in points. Their capsize on day one must’ve sparked a FIERCE competive fire in them. With on-point starts and super clean spinnaker sets the duo dominated all four races, taking all bullets and securing their first place finish!

The James Island Father’s Day Regatta is the third SAYRA Junior Grand Prix event this year. This win puts Andrew and Scarlett on the board and in an early lead in a series that continues through November.
