Our grandson, Brody spent the weekend with us and loves looking through my vehicle extrication training photos. His first photo even captured his Mimi in the background!

Spinal immobilization is an important first aid strategy following a high-impact crash, helping protect the spinal cord from further injury. No two crashes are the same, and every situation presents its own challenges.

This photo is from SAFE’s 48-hour Advanced Vehicle Extrication Hands-On Program. The program was conducted in conjunction with extensive crash research at the Medical College of Wisconsin Neuroscience Research Crash Laboratory.

I love that Brody is already so interested in what I do!

Remember: if you see emergency lights or stranded motorists on the side of the road – move over or slow down. Here are some reasons why we ask for extra space.

SLOW DOWN. MOVE OVER. SAVE LIVES.

Our officers, Sun Prairie Fire & EMS, and Finish Line Towing are working together to remind our community about the importance of the Move Over Law.

First responders and roadside workers put themselves near traffic every day to help others. When you approach a stopped vehicle or emergency scene, slow down and move over when possible.

Giving these individuals extra space can help prevent serious injuries and save lives. A few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference.

National Move Over Day, Saturday, October 17th. Please move over or slow down. 

Behind every flashing light is a person, a family, and someone waiting for them to come home. Please slow down, move over, and give roadside workers and first responders the space they need to stay safe. One small act of kindness can save a life. Everyone deserves to make it home safely. 🙏🚔🚒
