WEDNESDAY’S MESSAGE NOTES!

Vision helps you PREPARE for what’s coming & RECOGNIZE when it comes!

God usually gives us vision before the breakthrough ever arrives, so we can begin to prepare for it!

1. Vision helps you prepare for what’s coming!

In the account of Noah’s story and the ark found in Genesis chapters 6-10, God gives instruction to build the ark before rain ever came!

Noah’s family was saved because God gave him vision or a revelation to see what had never been seen before!
That Vision caused preparation!

When you get a vision from God for what’s to come in and through your life you begin preparation so that you are ready when it arrives!

2. Vision helps you recognize when it comes!

In 2 Kings 6 is the story of Elisha and the King of Aram. In verses 14-17 Elisha and his servant have two perspectives on what was going on!

God had already given Elisha revelation.
Elisha already had been given the vision for what was coming.

Elisha’s servant, had not received a revelation yet.
He had not received the vision for what was to come!

Both are in the same place, with the same circumstances, and same situation!
But are responding in two different ways!

The servant, freaks out in vs.,15 “what will we do now”!?!? Elisha on the other hand is calm and collected, like chill bro…”don’t be afraid”!

Why?

Because Elisha had recognized what was already there!
He had become fully aware of the fact that there was “more on our side than on theirs”!

The servant had no clue because his eyes had not been open yet! In other words, he had no vision!

2 Kings 6:17a (NLT)
“Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!”

Ultimately Elisha asks God to give his servant vision and then the revelation came!

Without a vision you won’t be able to recognize when what God has for you arrives! When you can’t see that it’s already here, you begin to react instead of respond!

The servant in the story reacted out of fear!
Elijah responded out of certainty!

Vision doesn’t just help you see something cool about your future, Vision helps you get ready for it and recognize it when it shows up!

LAST WEDNESDAY’S MESSAGE NOTES!

Breakthrough doesn’t always happen instantly, but if you keep walking with God, eventually you will see the breakthrough!

Breakthrough isn’t just about getting you through something, it’s about who you become on the way!

The main goal in breakthrough is to move closer to becoming the person God had in mind when he created and designed us!

And you need to know, a breakthrough in your life takes time, faith and courage to keep moving!

1. Breakthrough Takes TIME
Joseph’s Story (Genesis 37-50)

Joseph didn’t go from dream straight to breakthrough, he went from dream, to delay, to difficulty, to development, and EVENTUALLY got to his breakthrough.

Just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean God isn’t working!

2. Breakthrough takes FAITH
Abraham’s Story (Genesis 11-25)

Abraham got the promise from God and then they had to wait. Not days or months but Years! Decades!
EVENTUALLY they got their son Isaac but it took a quarter century to happen!

Faith is not I see it, so I believe it.
Faith is I believe it, before I see it!
Faith is trusting God in the midst of, “it’s coming but not yet”!

3. Breakthrough Takes COURAGE TO KEEP MOVING
The Battle of Jericho (Joshua 6)

God gives Joshua some strange and unusual instructions!
And for 6 day they followed the instructions and nothing happened or changed!

It would’ve been easy to quit, but they didn’t, they just kept moving, and then EVENTUALLY the walls came down!

Breakthrough didn’t happen on lap 1, it happened after their consistent obedience!

Some of you are one obedient step away from your breakthrough!

When we stay with our vision focused on God and keep trusting, and keep obeying, and we just don’t quit, EVENTUALLY we will see what God promised!

The biggest breakthroughs in your life will come to pass, simply because you didn’t quit!

Last Wednesday’s Message Notes!

Breakthrough becomes possible when we begin to have a new vision for what could be!

New vision is simply a new perspective based on more understanding!

Proverbs 29:18 (NASB)
“Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, But happy is one who keeps the Law.”

New Vision brings us New Hope!

This verse in particular is speaking about a vision or revelation of God!

A Revelation is the making known of something that was previously secret or unknown.

This is a reminder our verse of the year…

Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV)
“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

God showing us great and mighty things that we do not know, is God giving us revelation.

Vision helps us see beyond the barriers!
Barriers being obstacles that try to hold us back or block us from becoming everything we were created to be.

Breakthrough requires us to have faith or a vision of things that we can’t see!

Hebrew 11:1 (NKJV)
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

In Numbers chapters 13&14, 12 leaders were sent to spy on the promised land! 10 of them saw giants, and only 2 saw the promise! The difference was vision!

Caleb and Joshua had the perspective that God would give them victory
That the promise was greater than the obstacle!

The other 10 allowed fear to lead their perspective!
They chose to focus on the Giants in the land and heir own weaknesses!

A lack of perspective based on understanding, or a revelation of who God is, can cause you to miss what God has for your life!

Having vision, or perspective, or understanding, or revelation is not about me, or what I can do in my own strength…NO! It’s about HIM and what he can do in me and/or in my situation!

Because breakthrough doesn’t start when the obstacle moves, it starts when your vision changes.
When GOD begins to change what you see, you’ll start walking into things you never thought were possible!
