We extend our warmest congratulations to the twenty students who participated in our Snowmobile Safety Class, which concluded last night. They all demonstrated excellent knowledge, and we trust they will be responsible, respectful, and considerate snowmobilers this season. Please remember to ride on the right side of the trail, always within your capabilities. Now, let's all hope for abundant snowfall and cold weather this winter.

Our annual snowmobile safety class has been scheduled. It's a two-night course starting at 5:30 p.m. The dates for the classes are 12/11 and 12/12. Remember, anyone born after January 1, 1985, is required to pass a safety course to operate a snowmobile in Wisconsin. For those between the ages of 12 and 16, the safety class must be instructor-led. Sign up at the Wisconsin DNR website under Snowmobile Safety.

Don't forget to vote early today so that you can come out to our November Kick-Off meeting tonight starting at 7 pm.

After providing powersports safety instruction to over 10K children in the past 12 months, we have heard several children tell us that their grandparents do not ride with gear- and allow them to ride without seatbelts and helmets.

Here's a screenshot from the CPSC's 2023 OHV fatality report—just to dispel any notion that 55 and older do not need to heed safety instruction.

What are you teaching your grandchildren?

Please mentor proper riding technique and wear the gear all the time, obtain safety certification, and do not allow children to drive adult sized machines.

If we all start doing this, these numbers will go down.
