Where FAITH is planted...MIRACLES can bloom! Tricia’s Troops Cancer Connection began serving the community in May of 2011. Thank you for your support!

A year earlier, our co-founder and mother of two young children was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer at the age of 35 and experienced the great needs associated with battling the disease. Surrounded by a loving system of support from family and friends, she made it her mission to ensure that nobody would have to go through cancer without the same level of support and care that she was fortunate to receive. Today, the organization helps create and sustain a community of support for people living with and affected by cancer by providing financial assistance to families in need and providing service coordination to help cancer fighters and their families meet their daily living needs. Tricia Wright passed away on April 26, 2012 but her mission continues in the organization she founded.

On this "Thankful Thursday" we want to thank our donors who make our financial assistance program possible for cancer fighters facing both a medical and financial crisis simultaneously.

The future is bright and these students are proof!

A big thank you to the sophomores from Oconomowoc High School who visited Tricia's Troops today as part of their career and life readiness day!

This group of students, who are exploring potential careers in health and wellness, had the opportunity to tour our space and learn about the many wellness practices offered within The Guild of Modern Wellness. They also joined Katie for a mindful movement and meditation session and got to experience firsthand how we nurture the mind, body and spirit.

We love opportunities like these to share our passion for community and whole-person wellness and inspire the next generation to explore careers that make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

And we must add... these were some of the most polite, respectful and attentive young adults! Thank you for spending your morning with us! Keep exploring, keep growing and shining your light!

From the moment the sun came up over Lake Michigan this morning, we knew it was going to be a special day! Thanks to the invitation of American Cancer Society, we had a booth at their "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk" on the Summerfest grounds and had the opportunity to share our mission. We witnessed strength, compassion, creativity, courage and the power of COMMUNITY!!

Our thanks to everyone who stopped by to add a thumb print to our "Where Faith is Planted, Miracles Can Bloom" flower and a special thanks to our small but mighty "Team Tricia's Troops" that came together to walk, support one another and support the larger goal to "end breast cancer as we know it."

On this "Thankful Thursday" we want to extend our gratitude to Our Savior's Lutheran Church ELCA for their event to assemble greeting cards for Tricia’s Troops. Sets of these lovingly crafted cards will be added to our chemo care tote bags and distributed to cancer patients at area hospitals.

There were 45 volunteers that made 150 dozen cards and there will be another 150 dozen to follow. WOW!! This is the power of caring and sharing so that families impacted by cancer can feel loved and supported.

Our thanks also to Melissa Krahn for organizing these tremendous events and making these meaningful connections happen in our community. THIS is what the heart of Tricia's Troops is all about!

This morning, we began our 6-week devotional support group "Rooted & Rising" through Project Connect at Tricia’s Troops, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to walk this journey together. 🙏

A special thank you to author Jennifer Abrahamson for generously donating 10 copies of her devotional book, Rooted & Rising, for our group! Her generosity is helping create a space where women can connect, reflect, and grow in faith together.

Over these next six weeks, we hope to cultivate a safe place to be real, open up, and be vulnerable—while also being strengthened, encouraged, and reminded of God’s presence through His Word and through one another.

There is something powerful about realizing we don’t have to walk through the hard seasons alone. 🌿

If you haven't experienced a mindful movement & meditation class with Katie Nied, our most fabulous Project Connect coordinator and instructor, then tonight is your lucky night!

She will be leading a Christ-Centered class tonight from 6:30-7:30 p.m. that will be open to the public at Dr. Martin Luther Church in Oconomowoc.

This is a great opportunity for our lake country community to access a program that is typically at our New Berlin headquarters. We would be truly thrilled to have you in attendance to join us in pressing pause and allowing some peace to enter into your busy life. See you there!
