Millbrook encampment 2023! We had a great time hosting everyone. Scouts and parents from New Berlin, Morris, Shurburne, Norwich, Fleming and Adams all made the trip and stayed through the weekend. We had games and skill challenges for all the scouts, as well as a DJ’d bonfire with s’mores and a talent show.
A great time was had by all. A special thank you to Mayor Peter Lennon & John Elliot, for their visit and speeches for the scouts and to the Town of New Berlin for the use of the park. Hopefully we’ll see you all next year for Millbrook Encampment 2024!

The Troop 61 regular meeting is tomorrow at 6:30pm at the American Legion on Academy St. New Berlin.
We are happy to have several new scouts and many exciting activities planned for this scouting season. Anyone with questions or boys looking to join scouting are welcome to come by, ask questions and see what we’re all about.

Best of luck in the new school year to all students in the New Berlin, South New Berlin and surrounding areas.
Troop 61 Boy Scouts will be meeting Wednesdays at 6pm at the American Legion on Academy St. (One way St.) directly behind the Town Hall/Police station. All interested parties are welcome, children to be accompanied by a parent.

Troop 61 Crossover ceremony welcoming new Boy Scouts to Troop 61. These former Pack 61 Cub Scouts have transitioned into the Boy Scout program. They will now be able to enjoy the full benefits of the program with extended camping and other great activities. Welcome to the Troop Thomas, Tyler and Blake. You are now officially a part of the long and proud New Berlin scouting tradition.

New Berlin Boy Scouts Troop 61 had a great weekend encampment at Millbrook campground. Due to the recent power outages and weather we didn’t have as much company as we had hoped but we did have scouts, parents and leaders from Morris Boy Scouts Troop 3 and Sherburne Boy Scouts Troop 66 join in the fun. Mayor Peter Lennon stopped by the opening ceremonies and gave a talk to the boys about the great impact scouting has had on his life and military career. We even had a visit from some baby farm animals from a local farm. More pictures and videos to follow.
Many camping/ life lessons were learned and many laughs with new friends were had. It was a great start to the summer scouting/ camping season.
Thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Phillips, Mr. Joanis, Harrington, Mr. Cook and Miss Emily for all the help and support.
