Meet Tracy Sylvia!

Today we would like to introduce our Rotary Club member Tracy Setzler Sylvia.

Tracy has been a member of the Rotary Club of New Bedford for almost 1 year. She is currently a part of the fundraising committee.

Why did you join the Rotary Club?
I joined Rotary because I wanted to be part of an organization that truly makes a difference in the community. Service, leadership, and helping others have always been important to me, and Rotary gives me the opportunity to continue contributing in a meaningful way while connecting with people who share these same values.

What do you like best about being a Rotarian?
What I enjoy most is the sense of purpose and fellowship. I love being surrounded by people who are committed to improving the lives of others, and I appreciate the opportunity to give back, build relationships, and continue growing both personally and professionally.

What do you do outside of Rotary Club?
I’m currently enjoying retired life, spending quality time with family, relaxing, and embracing new opportunities.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy glamping, hiking, staying active and fit, traveling, and making memories with friends and family.

Fun Fact about you?
I recently retired from active duty with the Air National Guard at Otis Air National Guard Base after proudly serving for 31 years.

Tracy lives in New Bedford with her husband, two of her three daughters, and their dog. Her oldest daughter also lives nearby with her husband and her two beautiful grandchildren.

💫 Rotarian Spotlight 💫

Meet Amy Santos!

Today we would like to introduce our Rotary Club member Amy Santos.

Amy has been a member of the Rotary Club of New Bedford for 2 years, and currently serves as the Social Media Manager.

Why did you join the Rotary Club?
I had spent many years volunteering at my children’s school, and led a Girl Scout troop for 8 years, so I did a lot of volunteering when my children were school aged. Now they have grown up and I missed volunteering. My oldest and dearest friend Michelle was the president of the Rotary Club, so of course I reached out to her to join.

What do you like best about being a Rotarian?
I enjoy the feeling you get when you know you are truly making a difference in people’s lives.

What do you do outside of Rotary Club?
I am an X-ray tech at Morton Hospital on the overnight shift. In 2027 it will make 30 years for me at Morton.

What are your hobbies?
My favorite thing to do is plan vacations! I love making itineraries and finding cool places to go. I like to plan trips with friends and try to always have a vacation planned ahead so that at the end of a trip, I always have something to look forward to.
My second favorite thing to do is plan parties, especially themed ones!

Fun Fact about you?
I can do a pretty good Cher impersonation 🎤

Amy lives in New Bedford with her husband Corey, her daughters Emily and Abby, and their dog Oakley and cats Dunkin and Donut

I also value the opportunity to connect and socialize with fellow members who share the same commitment to service and community impact.

What do you do outside of Rotary Club?
Outside of Rotary, I'm an Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager at Bristol County Savings Bank.
